For Jess Ribeiro, making a record is a lot like falling in love: it’s a leap into the unknown with the belief that the currents will carry you. With album number three, LOVE HATE, the analogy could not be more apt. LOVE HATE traverses the whole landscape of love: its amorous peaks, its rough rivers, and its dark valleys.

Ribeiro is an award-winning singer songwriter. Her second album, Kill it Yourself, was produced by acclaimed musician/producer Mick Harvey (Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey). It was recently included in the 2018 NPR top 100 Artists of SXSW. Shortlisted for the Australian Music Prize (AMP) in 2016 as well as in two categories for The Age Music Victoria Awards - best song and best female artist.

Ribeiro’s songs are cinematic in scope: it’s music that travels, across deserts like a Western, through city streets like Film Noir, diving headlong into hazy rock, landscape ambience and melodious 60’s psych.
